Teresa is 63 years old. She has 12 years experience as a Walking Coach for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program training participants to walk marathons, plus two years as a hiking coach for hikes at Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and Red River Gorge. Teresa coaches Girls Basketball as well as Shot Put and Discus during track season. She is a certified Tai Chi instructor and has experience teaching the Shaolin system of Martial Arts as she holds a second degree brown belt in this discipline. She also has a certification in Torite Jitsu, a pressure point system of Martial Arts. Since 2000, she has completed over 30 marathons, a number of half marathons, 5 olympic distance triathlons, and 4 century cycles. Her last triathlon and century cycle were completed 10 months after a total knee replacement. This accomplishment inspired her to become a personal trainer – to show people that no matter what their age or “affliction”, they can *move*.
She is a firm believer in movement being a key in living fully and effectively. As the saying goes, “use it or lose it!” Too many people develop health problems unnecessarily. Medications can be cut drastically if one develops the habit of even moderate exercise. One doesn’t have to train for endurance events or work hard for an hour to achieve positive results in their health. Teresa is here to show you how you can do that.
